I've noticed for a long long time even before I came to dA that people seem so dead set on drawing like other people.
Be it Walt Disney,Clamp, Masamune Shirow, Klar,Bleedman, Jisuk etc etc and anyone else you can name i'm sure someone has named it.
(Hey I wish these things too sometimes but...)
As flattering as it may be to some do you really think thats the best? I don't really think any of the greats (on dA or not) woke up and said "gee when i grow up i wanna draw like so and so"
Everyones art style is unique or at the very least should aspire to be and it would be really sad if every one looked the same. Saying that isnt it just that what makes us like them? They arent like the rest that we've seen, yeah some people have a similarity but being blaightently identical in every artistic way is in rather bad taste IMHO.
yeah we can learn form eachother via methods of inking, colouring and such like but at least adapt it to how we draw.
so thats why I wanna draw like me and no one else.
I'm really sorry for the rambling ._. and if i confused anyone but its just something i feel strongly about. I don't like copy cats and i think you know the kind i speak of. anyways enjoy if you please.
i love how you draw.. and i love how i draw.. it's like a signature.. you cant adopt someone elses.. it's just.. odd.. sure you can manipulate and copy, but your art is your art.. it should always be yours..
Quite true. I have influences, but I would never try to identiacally copy another person's style. That's for the doujinshi artists I don't even know have the people you mentioned ...

I used to want to draw like Gosho Aoyama (which if you've seen his art style isn't a very high goal .__.) but after practicing drawing I started to get better and it doesn't even look remotely like his style. And I am happy with it. I would rather draw like me too (my boys are cuter )

I hope you don't mind if I kidnap this? I really do agree I try to strive to make my style original, but I believe I'm still working on that. When I was younger I started to draw like some of the more infamous styles, but now I never really want to draw my own. :3
